The Abortion Crisis

Understanding the Abortion Crisis in our state is key to truly empowering the choice for life! Let’s take a look into the past and dig into the real crisis now.

1. The Pink House

CPC Metro has long been on the frontlines of the abortion crisis in Mississippi. In 2017, we opened our medical clinic, The Cline Center, across the street from the last abortion clinic in Mississippi – the Pink House, Jackson Women’s Health Organization, where 5316 abortions took place in 2022.

2. The Dobbs Decision

This is the same Jackson Women’s Health Organization of JWHO v. Dobbs that went on to overturn Roe v. Wade at the Supreme Court level in 2022. Many think that this decision ended abortion in our country and our state. The Truth is that the Dobbs decision did not end the abortion crisis in our country, it returned abortion legislation to state lawmakers.

In Mississippi, the abortion ban, with exceptions for instances of rape and the life of the mother, did not end the abortion crisis in our state. Not only are states like Illinois, where abortion is legal to the point of birth, advertising to at-risk women in our state – urging them to travel out of state and get an abortion, the abortion crisis has only grown more dire with the rise of the abortion pill.

3. The Crisis Now: The Abortion Pill

In 2023, medical abortion (the abortion pill) accounted for 63% of all abortions – an increase of 50% since 2020.

With the click of a button on cheerful, friendly-looking websites women can order dangerous abortion drugs straight to their door. This means that the abortion provider is now a cellphone, and the abortion clinic is now a bathroom.

This is the real crisis in our state right now.

4. Building a Culture of Life

Regardless of the status of abortion legislation, at CPC Metro our heart is with the at-risk woman. We know that we work in this place at this time because the Lord has allowed us to do so and blessed us so abundantly with the support of so many in our community dedicated to building a culture of life alongside us.

We know that the abortion industry profits from hurting vulnerable women.

We know that the abortion industry profits from ending the life of an innocent child, miraculously knit together in a mother’s womb, and made in the image of God.

We know that the abortion industry profits from touting false choices and false hope as empowerment.

At CPC Metro, we offer true empowerment.
